FareShare Greater Manchester helps to feed 30000 people every week across Greater Manchester, parts of the High Peak and East Cheshire and last year redistributed the equivalent of 4.72 million meals. The 290 schools, charities and community organisations we provide food to are experts in using it to engage people who are struggling to cope with life on low, erratic or no incomes and help them address the underlying causes of poverty such as providing additional services or referrals for debt advice to help with household costs such as fuel. By working together, we ensure homeless and isolated people get hot meals, pensioners get together at lunch clubs, schools provide breakfasts, play schemes give out packed lunches and food parcels reach those with little or no incomes. Some examples of the groups we help are Family Action, Mustard Tree, Trafford Veterans, Westmorland Primary School and Bolton Hospice.
