“For many years the Shears Foundation has sponsored bursaries and assisted places at Bradford Grammar School. This has enabled a number of children from lower and middle income backgrounds to attend one of the North’s leading independent day schools. (Bradford Grammar was voted northern independent school of the year by the Sunday Times in 2018).
Bradford Grammar School’s facilities and ambitious extra-curricular programmes has enabled those children to enjoy a variety of sporting, musical and art facilities that they may not have otherwise experienced. Many of the Shears scholars, who are musically and artistically talented, have excelled in this environment and have gone on to pursue their ambitions as well as receive a first class education.
Bradford Grammar School’s reputation is built on (economic and social) diversity and the Shears Foundation is proud to have helped nurture the careers and talents of so many less advantaged children.
